About
the California Conservation Corps
The CCC provides trained work crews in all regions of California
– urban, suburban and rural – for projects that include
emergency response (flood, fires and earthquakes), energy conservation
and retrofitting, irrigation system installment, landscape management,
boardwalk construction, trail building, tree planting and wildlife
habitat restoration. Projects must provide a natural resource or
other public benefit, and projects must provide the corpsmember
with education and training in employable skills. The CCC executive
team works to seek out sponsors that can provide the technical plans,
work specifications, materials and on-site supervision for related
projects. Effort is this made through post-program placement to
ensure corpsmembers have access to gainful employment.

diverse, hard working and enthusiastic with a will to succeed. They
are tested on the job and must commit to a lifestyle that includes
abstinence from alcohol, violence, the destruction of property,
drugs or a refusal to work. Corpsmembers are trained to be responsible,
self-disciplined and motivated to learn new skills. They are trained
to handle emergency situations and many have specialized training
in firefighting, oil spill clean-up, energy conservation and food
