About The Program
The program consists of 9 days of camping and backpacking. During this time, participants will have the opportunity to learn about conservation career options from highly experienced leads, and to develop their own leadership skills. Participants will learn about the administrative side of planning a guided hike.
In addition to the field component, there will be 4 Zoom calls where participants will gain additional skills. This time will be dedicated to developing resumes which can be used to apply to federal positions, California state positions, and private organizations. Participants will also learn skills in Google Suite and MS Office and create an interactive map detailing their experience.
Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a certificate in Leadership Training from the CCC Foundation and be eligible to receive a professional reference. Travel costs within the state of California will be reimbursed and all gear can be provided at no cost. Participants who are not being paid by their Conservation Corps for the duration of the program will receive a $500 stipend.
