Welcoming New Members to the CCCF Board

We are thrilled to announce the addition of four new members to the CCC Foundation Board of Directors; two of whom are current CCC Corpsmembers. These four individuals bring a unique perspective to the board and will make a positive impact in our communities by advancing the mission of the CCC Foundation. There are three positions being filled, Javier and Tabatha join as regular board members, while Jeremy and Zachary are active CMs and share one vote. The active corpsmember position recognizes the possibility that CCC corpsmembers may be called out for emergency response so we have provided an alternate for that possibility.

Javier Rodriguez

Javier Rodriguez is a second-year Master of Social Welfare student at UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, with a passion for serving marginalized communities and promoting social and economic justice. As co-founder and co-chair of the Underground Scholars initiative at UCLA, he supports current and prospective students impacted by mass incarceration, imprisonment, and involuntary detainment. He is also building the Los Angeles Formerly Incarcerated Student and Alumni Network. Javier’s leadership experience extends beyond academia as he was a Crew leader for a CCC Camarillo Wildland Firefighting Crew during his early twenties. He intends to become an agent of change and promote impactful interventions for underrepresented communities, especially at-risk youth, utilizing his experience, leadership, training, and education.

Tabatha Chavez

Tabatha has a 25+ year career with the State of California, receiving several awards and accolades during her time, notably a Superior Accomplishment Award and the Delta Service District Conservationist I of the Year Award. She has worked in various leadership roles within California's cannabis licensing authorities, and now serves as Investigative Services Branch Chief. Prior to this, Tabatha spent over a decade with the CCC, holding various roles including Corpsmember, Special Corpsmember, and Conservationist I. She also worked as a Budget Analyst for the California Department of Industrial Relations and as a Budget Officer for the California Bay Delta Authority, among other roles. We are excited to contribute her knowledge and experience to the Foundation’s team and help forward the goals of the organization.

Zachary Osborn

Zachary Osborn is a highly dedicated Corpsmember who brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the CCC and the local community. With a background in contract security, secretarial administration, and fisheries, Zachary has developed strong communication skills and has maintained important contacts and partnerships with various organizations. He currently serves as the Sergeant of Arms on the Ukiah Center Corpsmember Advisory Board and looks forward to using his skills and experience to continue serving the CCC's mission as a board member.

Jeremy Powers

Jeremy is a current Corpsmember at the CCC. He’s made a significant impact during his 10 months of service, including becoming an integral member of the fire crew. He has completed a full fire season and passed the test certifying his team as a Cal Fire Type 1 Fire Crew. Jeremy has recently been promoted to the position of Fire Specialist and is excited to use his newly gained experience to help mentor his peers.

These individuals will play a vital role in shaping the future of the CCC Foundation and supporting our efforts to make a positive impact on the CCC community. Their expertise and commitment will help us better achieve our mission and make a lasting impact.
