California Conservation Corps Foundation

Location: Remote/Hybrid with frequent travel throughout California

The California Conservation Corps Foundation (CCCF) seeks a dynamic, visionary and mission driven Executive Director to lead and grow our statewide nonprofit organization. The Executive Director will partner with the Board of Directors, staff and stakeholders to advance the Foundation’s mission of supporting the California Conservation Corps (CCC) by providing resources, funding, programs and partnerships that enhance the experience, education and career development of the CCC Corpsmembers.


About the Foundation

The California Conservation Corps Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the California Conservation Corps- a pioneering workforce development and environmental stewardship program that has helped thousands of young people improve Californias natural resources while building valuable life and career skills. The Foundation enhances this work through fundraising, scholarships, alumni engagement, and strategic partnerships that help corpsmembers thrive during and after their CCC service.


Position Summary 

The Executive Director (ED) serves as the chief executive of the Foundation and is responsible for leadership, strategic direction, fundraising and overall management. The ED will build and maintain meaningful partnerships with governmental agencies, philanthropic organizations, and the private sector to expand support for Corpsmembers and to amplify the Foundations impact.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the Foundation’s strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors.

Fundraising and Development: Secure financial resources through grants, major gifts, corporate partnerships, and donor engagement. Expand revenue-generating and fundraising activities to support existing program growth. Maintain records and ensure compliance according to all nonprofit laws, needs and accepted practices. 

Board Relationship and Management: Collaborate with CCCF board on the mission and vision of the organization and maintain strong working relationships with board members. Ensure timely scheduling, materials preparation and recording of board meetings and plan and execute annual strategic planning sessions. Work with board members to develop, maintain and leverage their relationships.

Stakeholder Relationships: Create and maintain relationships with key CCC leaders and staff to ensure the foundations goals and objectives are aligned with those of the CCC. Identify, grow and maintain relationships with strategic partners in the conservation field, corporate and small business field and the political and legislative arena.

Program Oversight: Support and expand funding for programs that assist the corpsmembers such as the emergency fund, scholarships, the global corps and various training and certification programs.


Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in nonprofit leadership, public administration, or related fields.

Strong record of accomplishment in fundraising, donor relations, and partnership development.

Knowledge of workforce development, environmental conservation, or youth service programs is highly desirable.

Excellent communication, strategic planning, and relationship building skills.

Ability to work and supervise staff remotely with frequent commercial transportation and personal vehicle travel to indoor and outdoor settings.

Bachelor's degree and 5 years experience as Executive Director and/or management of a medium sized nonprofit and/or public or private organization. Familiarity with office and accounting software.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: competitive and commensurate with experience in the range of $120,000 to $140,000
