The CCC Foundation is entering an exciting new chapter with the appointment of three accomplished leaders to its Board of Directors: Roger Salazar, Martha Guzman Aceves, and Ruth Coleman.

Martha Guzman Aceves brings decades of public service experience, having held leadership roles in both state and federal government. She previously served as Regional Administrator for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and as a Commissioner with the California Public Utilities Commission, where she championed environmental protection and sustainable policy initiatives.

Ruth Coleman, one of the longest-serving Directors of California State Parks, led the department under three governors — Gray Davis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Jerry Brown. She currently serves as Executive Director of the California Parks Hospitality Association, representing concessionaires across more than 280 state parks.

Roger Salazar is president of Alza Strategies, one of California’s leading public affairs firms. A veteran communicator, Salazar’s career includes roles with President Bill Clinton, Vice President Al Gore, Governors Gray Davis and Jerry Brown, and the California Latino Legislative Caucus.

Advancing the CCC Mission

“Martha, Ruth, and Roger are perfect additions to our team,” said Dan Savage, President of the CCC Foundation Board. “Their leadership and expertise will help us expand opportunities for corpsmembers and strengthen our mission to support their personal and professional growth.”

Building Toward 50 Years of Service

As the CCC approaches its 50th anniversary in 2026, its impact continues to grow. Earlier this year, more than 400 corpsmembers supported firefighting and emergency response efforts during the Los Angeles County fires — a testament to the CCC’s enduring commitment to California’s people and environment.

Founded in 1988, the CCC Foundation continues to invest in programs that empower young Californians to serve, learn, and lead.
