2024: A Year of Growth, Service, and Conservation

As 2024 draws to a close, we reflect on an extraordinary year of progress, service, and collaboration at the CCC Foundation (CCCF). This year, we’ve continued empowering young people through conservation, bolstering environmental stewardship, and expanding our reach in local and global initiatives. From global trail restoration projects to new leadership hires, 2024 has been a pivotal year in advancing our mission. Here are some of the key highlights:

Global Corps: Restoring Trails in Greece and Patagonia

Our Global Corps program expanded in 2024, allowing corpsmembers to work internationally on critical conservation projects. In Greece, our crews partnered with local organizations to restore trails in the stunning Peloponnese region, ensuring these ancient paths are preserved for future generations. In Patagonia, teams worked in remote areas to repair trails affected by environmental degradation and extreme weather. These international experiences provided corpsmembers with hands-on skills, while also fostering global ecological awareness.

Florida Hurricane Aftermath

In the aftermath of the devastating hurricanes in Florida this year, our crews mobilized quickly to support recovery efforts. Our disaster relief teams traveled to impacted areas, assisting with the cleanup and restoration of parks and public lands. Our corpsmembers helped clear debris, rebuild trails, and restore habitats that were devastated by the storms. Their swift response underscored our commitment to supporting communities in times of crisis and exemplified the resilience and dedication of our teams.

Wilderness Program

Our Wilderness Program continued to thrive in 2024 with six transformative hikes—three Affinity Hikes and three Leadership Hikes. These hikes gave participants the opportunity to push their limits while developing critical outdoor skills and building leadership capabilities. Our Affinity Hikes focused on creating spaces for diverse groups to connect with nature, while the Leadership Hikes provided participants with tools to become the next generation of conservation leaders. This program has been a key part of our mission to cultivate an inclusive and skilled workforce ready to meet the challenges of the future.

Welcome New Leadership

2024 also brought new leadership to CCC Foundation (CCCF). We're pleased to announce that Anne Harrison has been promoted to Director of Programming and Operations, where they’ll continue to lead our programs while overseeing key operational functions.

We're also excited to welcome Itzel Roman as our new Program Coordinator. With her extensive background in environmental education and program management, Itzel will play a pivotal role in expanding our outreach and ensuring the smooth operation of our programs. Finally, Luz Lara joins us as our Operations Coordinator, focused on optimizing our internal processes to support the growth and scalability of our initiatives.

These talented leaders will be instrumental in helping CCCF build a strong foundation for future success. We look forward to the impact they will make!

Packer Intern

This year, we were thrilled to offer a Packer Intern position as part of our ongoing commitment to provide hands-on learning experiences. The intern has been working alongside our trail teams to support backcountry operations, gaining valuable insight into trail maintenance, wilderness preservation, and the logistics involved in remote conservation projects. This internship is just one example of how CCC Foundation (CCCF) creates opportunities for young people to gain real-world experience while contributing to important conservation efforts.

Looking Ahead

As we enter 2025, CCCF remains committed to its mission of empowering young people through conservation and environmental stewardship. We are excited about the future and the opportunity to expand our programs, build new partnerships, and continue our efforts to protect and restore California’s natural resources. With your support, we will continue to develop the next generation of conservationists who will help create a sustainable, green future.

Thank You for Your Continued Support!

The accomplishments of 2024 would not have been possible without the dedication of our corpsmembers, the support of our donors, and the collaboration of our partners. As we look forward to the year ahead, we are grateful for your ongoing commitment to conservation and youth empowerment.

Together, we can continue to make a lasting difference in the communities we serve and the world we all share.
